- Any great orator can make one feel good about the USA. Obama did that. Reality checks, however, are that there remains not only in the Congress but in the public a deep divide along Party lines.

- I really like the Obamas. Both have charm, seem so kind, and are mentally alive and vibrant. I'm a Republican, disagree with leftist Democrats, though I feel we all have a right to push our political values. I just find both of the Obamas to be classy.

- Immigrants are GUESTS at best, even if allowed into the country, until they become citizens or have proper documentation.  What is wrong with having their DNA on record?  How is that oppressive to anyone?

- The auto industry and its laborers have had a nice ride, high wages ($70 per hour) and high salaries.  Now they ask people who earn one quarter of their wages to pay their wages to produce cars we don't want.  What is wrong with this picture?

- It is natural for China and Russia to cooperate on this venture. Hopefully one day, without our changing our political philosophy and economic system, we can engage with China in programs that benefit both our countries.
